            In this era of information Technology, Bahraich is also not untouched with its effect. There are many private & Frenchisee institutes such as NIIT , APTECH, UPDESCO & BIIT are there and a number of private computer institutes are also imparting Computer education & producing IT skilled professionals.

              Although BSNL's internet connectivity is available through dialup facility but the district is a bit lagging behind in internet usage &  connectivity comparatively to the other developed districts. There are cybercafé facility available in the district. There is still a big need to create the awareness among the people about internet usage.

Role of NIC in the field of IT :  

             NIC District Center Bahraich was inauguarated on 12 Oct. 1993 by Shri. Radhey Shyam Kaushik, Commissioner,  Faizabad Divison, Faizabad. Since then NIC is working Continuously towards spread of Information Technology awareness. Many employees of the State Government deptts. such as DESTO, DRDA, Collectorate,  Treasury, District Court   etc. have been imparted computer training time to time by NIC Bahraich. The administration is also taking keen  interest in making all the Govt. offices & deptts. Computerized to monitor all activities very quickly & effectively. The Government offices which are already Computerized are as follows :.

         --- District Treasury

         --- DESTO

         --- DRDA

         --- Distt. Election office 

         --- Sub Registrar Office

         --- Tehsils

         --- District Consumer Forum

         --- Video Conferencing Facility etc.

             As the work and responsibilities of NIC Distt. Centre grew up the need for better & more space for NIC Distt. Centre, as a result, the new building for NIC District Centre, Bahraich was inaugurated by Shri Ramapati Shastri , Hon'ble Health Minister of U.P. on 13 Feb 1999. The work of land records Computerization was taken up by NIC Distt. Centre in this new building initially. 

             NIC always play as pivotal role during the elections. Since Legislative Assembly Elections 1996 all the polling and counting duties of election process, staffs are deployed by NIC using Random number Generation Technique. Besides this, various reports are also provided to the Distt. Administration to enable them to take the right decision.

              NIC Distt. Centre is equipped with NICNET based  'KU' band Internet Connectivity & TCP/ IP based DAMA Connectivity through satellite & connects NIC district with all other NIC offices and other units in India.
